I have found a few images, just from google images, by Peter blake who designed the 'sgt Pepper's' album cover.
Im loving the 'cut and paste' look and colour against black and white, I think layered street shots could work really well, especially if using the Liverpool landscape.
We could even shoot the model in the studio on Monday and just have street shots of landmarks etc as backgrounds?

The Fool

A little bit of research on 'the fool'. I think the psychedelic influence and colour pallets are really effective.

The Fool (design collective)

The Fool were a Dutch design collective and band who were influential in the psychedelic style of art in British popular
music in the late 1960s. The colourful art draws on many fantastical and mystical themes. The name is a reference to The Fool
tarot card.The original members were Dutch artists Simon Posthuma and Marijke Koger, who were discovered by 
photographer Karl Ferris among the hippie community on the Spanish island of Ibiza in 1966. He took photographs of clothes
designed by them, and sent them to London where they were published in The Times (London) and immediately caused a
sensation. Ferris took The Fool back to London, and together they opened a studio, with the Dutch artists producing clothes
 and art, and Ferris pursuing photography. Barry Finch and artist Josje Leeger, joined later. All had been involved with
Beatles manager Brian Epstein's Saville Theatre.

Its from the album cover section, Its just given me some interesting direction ideas. I t would look good if we made the models look like cut outs!

Originally, the group had wanted the album to include a package with badges, pencils and other small Sgt. Pepper goodies but this proved far too costly to realise. Instead, the album came with a page of cardboard cut-outs carrying the description:

The special inner sleeve, included in the early pressings of the LP, featured a psychedelic pattern designed by The Fool

Also, I bought some fake flowers in pink, red, blue and yellow today, thought we could use them in street shots tomorrow in Liverpool.

Oh and potentially have 1 model thats agreed!

I found this article on fashion inspired by Peter Blake, who designed the 'Sgt Pepper's' album cover. 

I think the background looks realy effective, plus the clothes are a bit more accessable than the original sgt pepper's ones!

Architectural fashion design

2009/2010 featured architectural fashion design in a big way. Many designers were outlandish and bold and only designed pieces for the catwalk.

 I wanted to look at this type of fashion design as the designers are appropriating the architectural structure of a famous building and recreating it, in powerful design pieces.
The beauty of this is that it can so easily be done, I dont mean on this level of fine fabric but on a really basic level with cardboard and Kellogg's boxes, i know thats really crazy but it can look fab :) For Example these wooden sticks sort of look like wooden pegs?

Fashion and the statue of liberty:

So designers have took inspiration from the strangest things of including the Ellis Island statue of Liberty which is a particular shade of sea green. Nike have made an SB shoe that is the same shade as the famous statue and it has the same principles of the fabric i.e the statue used to be brown as it is made out of copper however has turned green. The Nike trainer is made from three layers of fabric, green, brown and silver so that you can wear them down to reveal all three layers similar to the way the statue is rusting itself. Clever.

Statue of Liberty:

As an alternative idea, I started Looking at Architecture and landmarks because they are often used as inspiration in fashion and photography. The main Landmark I found, that had been replicated in some way- was the statue of Liberty.

So here she is in all her glory: symbolising freedom and opportunity.

As she is so iconic, many photographers and fashion designers have been inspired by her:

Y magazine influenced by the green lady.

Features Lady Gaga and Marc Jacobs.

Beauty Photographers have also been inspired:

the make up and styling here resembles that of the neoclassical structure, however it is so subtle and elegant that it is a work of art all on its own.
